Andrea H. Luke

Andrea Luke (nee Hallin), November 16, 2024, age 90.  Homewood resident for 39 years.  Beloved mother of Kristin (Patrick) O'Connor and Alan Luke (Janet Cassettari).  Cherished grandmother of Katherine "Katie" O'Connor (Lauren Bergeron).  Fond grandparent of Ryan (Michela) O'Connor, Lauren (Kevin) Locke, Juston Teach and Brittany Teach.  Dear sister-in-law of Mary Luke and Rosemary Hitchner.  Graduated from Chicago Teacher's College and taught primary grades and art at Churchill Elementary School in Homewood for 30 years.  Longtime member of St. Paul Community Church in Homewood, where she sang in the choir.  Passionate world traveler to over 110 countries, all 7 continents, all 50 states, and all 10 Canadian provinces.  After retirement, Andrea volunteered in the Pawnee Earth Lodge at the Field Museum for 18 years.  The only child of Swedish parents Myrtle and Arthur Hallin, she was a proud participant in Linnea (Swedish Club).  Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" Luke, and brothers-in-law Pop Luke and Jim Hitchner.   Memorial Visitation Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm, at Tews Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy., Homewood IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to South Suburban Humane Society would be appreciated.   For additional information contact (708) 798-5300 or www.tews-ryanfh.com.
