Agnes M. Intan-Yogya

Agnes Marina Intan-Yogya, MD (Tan In Nio) born March 31, 1933 in Semarang, Indonesia passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024 in Algonquin IL.  Formerly of Jakarta, Indonesia; Country Club Hills, IL and Orland Park, IL. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Yudha Basuki Yogya, MD.  (Yo Tiong Bouw).

Dear mother of Francesca Yogya-Johnson (the late Richard Yogya-Johnson), Martin (Tina) Yogya, (the late) Emil Yogya, Marisa (Karel) Vlasak, and Stephen (Peggy) Yogya.

Cherished Oma of Jasmin, Tia and Nissa Johnson, Maya Yogya and Evan Yogya.

Loving sister of (the late) Anthony (Betsy) Arief, (the late) Mary (late Charles) Setford, (the late) Tjing Hwie (the late Els) Tan and (the late) Tjing Sin (Pek) Tan.

Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Dr. Intan-Yogya was a geriatric physician in the Chicagoland area.  She was fluent in four languages and always sought continuing education and learning, often attending medical conferences and seminars with her husband and friends.  In her retirement, she dedicated countless hours volunteering in her community and with her church.  She had a lifelong passion for opera, theatre and delighted in spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the senior communities at Smith Crossing in Orland Park and most recently the Oaks in Algonquin where she enjoyed her regular card game gatherings.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at the Oaks who assisted her.

A memorial visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 6707 West 175th Street, Tinley Park, IL  60477 on Saturday, November 16th at 9am, with the funeral mass beginning at 10am.  Interment will directly follow at Good Shepherd cemetery in Orland Park.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Oaks at Algonquin, 2595 Harnish Dr, Algonquin IL 60102 on Sunday, November 17th at 1:30pm to 3pm.
