Joseph A. Faso

Joseph A. (Joe) Faso, a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.

Known by his family for his great sense of humor and his remarkable gift of remembering dates and special occasions, Joe made a lasting impression on those around him and regularly made an acquaintance into a friend. He was always the first to acknowledge a loved one, sharing great stories and memories with others around him. Joe gave selflessly to those in need and cared tirelessly for his mother, until her passing last year. He was an avid sports fan and a die-hard Cubs fan but was perhaps the biggest fan of his nieces and nephews. Known to everyone as "Uncle Joe", but most importantly, as the "Super Fan." Joe never missed a sports event or the opportunity to cheer on his nieces and nephews in any way. He was the guy that people knew they could count on, and everyone certainly knew they could always count on Uncle Joe.

During the span of his lifelong career with Faso Excavating, which operated in downtown Chicago Heights for nearly 80 years, Joe proudly worked with his late father, late uncles, and both brothers, John Faso and Phil Faso. Joe was a partner in the business for 40 years.

Joe also served the City of Chicago Heights for 8 years as Alderman, was Past President of the Chicago Heights Builders Club, and Past President of Chicago Heights Country Club. Joe was well known for his many bars that he was a partner in, Bub's Pub, Pal Joey's, and Jubilation. Joe also is a partner in the Gold Rush Pawn Shop. Joe will be missed by many at his favorite social club, Dino's Food & Liquor.

He attended St. Agnes Grade School ('65), Marian Catholic High School ('69), and Northern Illinois University.

Joe is survived by the love of his life of 20 years, Susie Caprio Jacobson, four siblings: Concelia Faso Giorgi (Paul), John Faso (Michele), Angela Faso Carlman (late Leonard) Phillip Faso (Livia), 12 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, many dear cousins and many, many lifelong friends. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Phillip J. Faso, and his mother Connie Faso (Pagoria).

Joe will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
